THE FRIENDS OF MARBLEHEAD HOCKEY
The purpose of this organization shall be to foster, expand, and perpetuate awareness of and interest in the development of ice skating, and in particular, the game of hockey and the activities affiliated with the game. This shall be accomplished by offering financial support to those who cannot afford the cost of equipment, and by establishing a scholarship program to assist in the furtherance of their education.

In 2007, Coach Emily Hudak's High School Girls team hosted the girls from MYHA in a practice session last week. In what has become a great tradition over the past few years, the MHS girls have become big sisters to their younger counterparts from youth hockey.

To date, The Friends of Marblehead Hockey have awarded $125,000.00 in scholarships to college bound senior hockey players, both men and women, and hockey cheerleaders. Upwards of $90,000.00 has been donated to Marblehead Youth Hockey to assist families in need to pay for equipment and ice time. Additionally, we have contributed roughly another $70,000.00 to promote the women’s hockey program, and to various charities and memorial funds.

We are most proud of the H. Hunter Craig IV Memorial Trophy Case in the lobby of the Field House at the Marblehead High School. (It was our tournament of 2000 that raised funds for this very project) Hunter Craig was a talented hockey and lacrosse player at MHS and a volunteer at many of our golf tournaments. He was tragically killed in a car accident in October of 1999.
